Anthony Scaramucci, former White House Communications Director, predicts that President Donald Trump will legalize marijuana after the elections. It is still unclear though if Scaramucci is basing his opinion on insider knowledge or a hunch. However, Trump said early this year that he’s more likely to support a congressional bill that would allow states to execute their own marijuana laws.

Francis Ford Coppola, a famous film director, is launching his own marijuana brand in partnership with Humboldt Brothers. This is a new addition to Coppola’s holding company, Sana Co. The brand will be called The Grower’s Series and will carry three strains. They are looking to make this a high-quality brand delivered through sustainable farming.

Marijuana prosecutions plummet in five New York City boroughs as district attorneys abandon pot cases. The police also changed their approach in enforcing marijuana. Cyrus Vance Jr., the Manhattan DA, showed that low-level marijuana offenses dropped as much as 87 percent from August to October compared to the same months last year.

Days after the Mexican Supreme Court ruled that the current marijuana laws are unconstitutional; the country’s ruling party wants to legalize cannabis sales. To do that, Congress has to repeal the criminal statutes against cannabis. Then, they will have to produce, market, and distribute marijuana.

A New Hampshire commission released a final report on a potential blueprint for legalizing marijuana. The report doesn’t take a side on whether the state should legalize cannabis. Instead, the report made recommendations about the possible structure of legalization, such as limiting possession and banning public consumption.
